Our Favorite Color for Spring 2014: Dazzling Blue!

Say goodbye to Emerald Green and hello to Dazzling Blue! Pantone has announced the “it” color for Spring 2014: Dazzling Blue.  This color was also our favorite among a list of top 10 colors for this upcoming spring, and we can’t keep our eyes off it. Dazzling Blue is such a beautiful shade that adds a pop to any outfit in your wardrobe. This blue is described as a “preppy shade of cobalt”.  What a fancy description, don’t you think? Accessories the Show

This past August, the Winky Designs team participated in the ATS show held in Las Vegas. It was a show the W.D. New York team had done before but our first here in Vegas. Boy, were we excited!!! We decided if we were gonna do it, we were gonna do it right and really plan it out. We timed the show with the launch of our spectacular (yes, it really is!) F/W ’13 Sweet Dreams Collection and wanted the booth design to reflect the more sophisticated turn Winky Designs was experiencing. Our wonderful intern Shyann and Winky designed the space and we all pitched in to make it a reality.

Tah DAH! It is widely known we had the best booth design…go ahead, ask around!

 

Everything was pretty much DIY which is how we like to roll. The uber-cool and unique brown wall is actually cut up corkboard we layered to give the wall texture and dimension. The “Winky” sign is silver sided foam insulation cut into lettering with a butter knife. Oh the wonders you can do with a butter knife…The other wall featured a real tree branch with select Sweet Dreams watches delicately hanging from fishing wire. Just don’t ask how we got the tree branch. Ok, I’ll give you a hint….*cough dumpster diving cough* Don’t judge. All the cool kids are doing it these days…

Overall, the show was awesome. Our booth got rave reviews, but most importantly, we secured many orders for the collections. Everybody loooooved Sweet Dreams and loved the packaging even more. We couldn’t have asked for a more awesome show to be a part of!! ‘Til next year ATS, peace out!

 

Oh this little girl? Carla is the cutest little British girl yeah! Winky fell in love with her and was contemplating kidnapping her. As she put it, “It’s not considered kidnapping if she voluntarily stays with me!” Um, actually Winky… JK PEOPLE, JK!

Fashion Photo Shoot Time

The time must come in every designer’s life where they must embark on the journey to create….THE NEW SEASON LOOKBOOK!! *Queue shouts of joy*

This season we decided on a playful and sweet theme to correspond with the “sweet” in the Sweet Dreams Collection name. With a little bit of research we stumbled upon this AH-DORABLE little candy shop in Downtown Las Vegas owned by Paul and Barry, seriously the nicest guys ever! These guys have a keen eye for design and it is reflected utmost in the candy shop décor. The candy is given the spotlight housed in glass jars which is in stark contrast to the white walls and tables. Accents of pink dot the candy landscape giving it just the right touch of added whimsy.

Thanks Sweet Spot Candy Shop!! The candy is delicious…not that I would know or anything…heheh @SweetSpotDTLV

 

Our beautiful models for the day were Shyann (from ATS booth design fame) and Lauren (model extraordinaire). They smiled until their faces were sore and were the perfect ladies to model our watches. Such troopers. The shoot lasted all day, but I think we got some winners, so feast your eyes on these little lovelies….
